Chase in the Bonn City

Bonn / Rhein-Sieg-Kreis - There could have been dead! Two car thieves provided a dangerous chase with police - 25 km from Königswinter to Bonn through the villages.
In the stolen Peugeot raced on the perpetrators red lights and sidewalks, rammed a patrol car. One hour of full throttle.
In the Bonn City the flight was over. At the Berlin Liberty / Belderberg the Peugeot crashed into an Alfa Romeo and a taxi. "The car came from nowhere, I could not respond ...," said taxi driver Mohammed Y. (29) stunned.
The hunt began Wednesday around 20.45 clock in Königswinter-Heisterbacherrott. A patrol car crew wanted to stop the offender in the stolen Peugeot - as was the driver at full throttle! The police with lights flashing behind.
The small car shot wild through Stieldorf, Bonn-Holzlar, Sankt Augustin-Niederberg and Bonn-Hoholz until after Niederholtorf. There, he rammed another Steifenwagen and drove recklessly. About purely Pützchens road to Beuel.
"The driver ignored the red light at intersections and over again drove on sidewalks, endangered oncoming cars," said police spokesman Frank Piontek.
At the time decided the crew of the pursuing patrol car to stop chasing - it was too dangerous. In particular, when the offender in the oncoming traffic on the Kennedy raced through narrow bridge construction. A massive manhunt for the blue Peugeot was already running.
A few minutes later ended the flight of the thieves with the accident on Belderberg. Nevertheless, the driver managed to escape, but on foot. The search for him is in full swing. His passenger (17) was arrested.
One hour of fierce persecution. The fact that no one was injured, borders on a miracle. That the damage to property is juicy: 20.000 €.
